Volunteers

For the past fifteen years, Arundel House of Hope, Inc. has worked to provide housing and support services to men and women experiencing homelessness in Anne Arundel County. Through various service offerings including the Winter Relief rotating temporary shelter program, The Fouse Center transitional housing facility, the Permanent Community Housing Program, the Safe Haven Supportive Housing Program, and the only Resource and Day Center in Anne Arundel County; Arundel House of Hope works with over 300 men and women each year to provide Substance Abuse, Mental Health Support, Employment Assistance, Adult Education, Health referrals, and other services in a professional and dignified manner. It is our goal to empower those in need to discover opportunity for change and take control of their lives.

In August of 2007 we will be launching our first Women's Permanent Housing program specifically for women experiencing homelessness in Anne Arundel County! We are very excited about this new program and look forward to its positive impact on our community. If you would like further information on any of our programs, services, and/or ways to get involved please contact me at 410-863-4888. We have many exciting events and opportunities coming up and would love the opportunity to share our work with you. All the best,

Mary E. Alexander

PARTNERS IN CARE- Volunteers Needed!

Can you volunteer two hours per month or more to help an older person?

Drivers, office volunteers, handymen, boutique workers--all are needed by Partners in Care, a local community nonprofit providing no-cost rides to doctors, grocery shopping, etc. and repairs. (partnersincare.org)

Drivers are especially needed at the present time. They are dispatched out of their homes and earn volunteer credits. (Partners in Care operates using a service-exchange/time-banking model.) Volunteers may also receive reimbursement for mileage.

Partners in Care is in need of volunteers who can answer phones and match members receiving services with those providing services. Partners in Care also welcomes monetary donations and donations of clothing and household items for its resale boutique.

No amount of volunteer time is too large or too small! Please contact Joyce Cavey at 1-800-227-5500 ex 25 or joycecavey@hotmail.com, 348 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.
